23 weeks pregnancy update

So I'm now 23 weeks pregnant so have 17 weeks left till we meet our baby boy or if he's like his big brother add on another week (James was 1 week 1 day late)!

So in the last couple of weeks we have started to prepare stuff as we worked out that Andy won't have another big chunk of time off till baby arrives. Andy finished painting the bedroom that will be babies. We bought the wardrobe and sorted clothes that a friend gave us.

We have started buying bits and pieces of clothing mostly sleep suits and vests. We picked up our changing bag last weekend. We went for the Babymoov Style after I read review from Jodie at http://www.lifewithpinkprincesses.co.uk

James is starting to take more of an interest now we have chosen a name for little man, so has started saying good night and good morning to my bump.

Mummy is feeling rather large. Looking back at photos of when I was 23 weeks with James I'm definitely bigger this time. The bump is definitely starting to get in the way when cooking and especially bathing James.

Baby boy has started getting very active over the last week and moving constantly as one minute the kicks are on my left hand side then next time they are on my right hand side. Hopefully he won't be like his big brother who spent the last 8-10 weeks of my pregnancy constantly on my left hand side and very low making walking and sitting very uncomfortable.

We have started gathering bits together for my hospital bag ie my wash bag as that was the part I left till last minute last time and forgot stuff. Have a rough idea about what I'm putting into babies bag.

So will update again in a few weeks!!!

Daddy's ten days off!

So daddy has had this week off work. It's been so great to spend a big chunk of time together as a family. So what have we done this week!

Monday started with a trip to Pikku in Gosforth to get James hair cut. He was such a good boy we then took him to captain teds soft play. Then it was home for lunch and a chilled out afternoon before tea bath and bed!

Tuesday started with daddy giving mummy a lie in before breakfast and daddy finishing off painting what will be baby boy number twos bedroom. Mummy was downstairs sorting out the washing on the dryer while James drove his man car around the kitchen floor! Mummy then sorted out the baby clothes we have so far while daddy played with James. We went for a walk to local shops in the afternoon before daddy sorted out the shed and mummy started preparing her half of the tea.

Wednesday was a chilled morning after a disturbed night from James. We then went to meet nana and gaga in town for a bit then we came home. Mummy was ordered to rest while daddy and James watched cartoons and a Thomas film. James didn't nap so was in bed fast asleep by quarter past six.

Thursday started early with James waking up at half five. Daddy took James downstairs to watch milkshake at seven am n told mummy to have a lie in. Next thing mummy knew it was eleven am and James was having a nap. Rest of the day was spent chilled out at home watching TV.

Friday we got up and had breakfast before jumping on the bus to meet nana and gaga at the metro centre before going to IKEA to get some bits and pieces we needed for the nursery and other storage for the alcove at top of the stairs.

Saturday started with a Tesco food delivery. Then mummy popped into town to pick up a birthday present for a friends one year old. James decided to stay at home with daddy and mummy got home to find fireman Sam on. Then our IKEA delivery arrived and the rest of the day consisted of flat pack hell!

Sunday was a chilled out morning before a yummy roast chicken dinner. We then spent the afternoon at the 1st birthday party of my old school friends little girl Bella, who was born at 23 weeks. We had a brilliant time. James and his gaga met Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the party but James was a bit scared of them up close.

Monday James woke up after seven for first time in ages! Nana and gaga picked James up about 11 so mummy and daddy could finish the flat pack without little hands and legs in the way. Baby boy now has a wardrobe and a kallax unit in his bedroom and clothes have started to be put away. We spent the afternoon once James was home watching Thomas tale of the brave again!

Tuesday an early start from James of 0530am. We went into town to get James outfit for my friends wedding n start looking for mine. Found nothing for me but James got shoes trousers & shirt. We bought a few more bits for baby boy too.

Wednesday this is daddy's last day off so we walked up to the retail park to go yo a few shops and pick up a few bits for the baby from TK Maxx and Matalan. Then it was home for lunch and Ben and Holly on TV for James. Mummy made a lovely chicken curry for tea. Then it was bath and bedtime for James!

We have had a lovely ten days with daddy off work and we are really going to miss him when he's back at work.

Family Update

So it's been a while since I did a in depth post into what we have been up to!

March found us celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary & then finding out baby two was on the way! We were also packing up our old house and arranging storage for all our furniture.

April we moved out of our rented house when I was eight weeks pregnant. I was showing quite alot already so trying to hide the bump while moving. We moved into my parents house while we were waiting to complete on our house. We also had my 30th birthday which was literally days after moving out of the house.

May was a big month but also a sad one as we had the first anniversary of losing my nannie. We had our 12 week scan and announced baby two was on the way to all our friends as family already knew. And the best part of May was collecting the keys to our house on the 27th!!

So that brings us up to June. I'm now 18 weeks pregnant & counting down to finding out the gender of baby two. We both think it's going to be another boy, but are seriously struggling to think of a boys name we like! James got registered for nursery school in September. Can't believe my tiny boy is growing up and almost three! We moved the big furniture the house on 1st of June & slept here for the first time on 3rd of June. The best part of June though had to be the arrival of our best friends Michelle & Richard's gorgeous little boy Jayden. So proud of them having this gorgeous little man and we know they will be brilliant parents as we have seen them with James who literally adores them.

So what does July hold for us, well first it's the 20 week scan! So Excited to find out if it's a boy or a girl! Although we do think it's a boy!

Baby two weeks 12-16

12 Week Scan was brilliant. Saw every little detail even saw the babies brain which looked like a butterfly.

20 week scan is booked for 7th July. Really looking forward to it and finding out if James is getting a brother or sister. He keeps changing his mind as to which he wants.

People have asked if we have a preference of girl over boy, but I say girl would be nice but boy would be easier as we already know what we are doing with a boy.

Nausea is finally disappearing but not the tiredness. I guess most of that comes from having a toddler running around and the fact it's been raining so been confined to indoors at his nana's house without the majority of his stuff.

Should be into our house in two weeks time so we can start trying to get James back into a good bedtime routine. I'm really missing the time I used to have once he was in bed to just chill out and sort stuff out.

James isn't sleeping too great, so neither am I. The whole being in one room is driving me mad.

14 weeks and we have our house keys woo hoo! Weekend had been spent painting what will be the nursery. All being well we will be sleeping there in a few days time!

15 weeks saw the midwife to get all blood results before going to register at new gps. Heard baby's heartbeat which was 154bpm. Should be in our new home for first night soon.

In our new home and love it! James has settled down at bedtime really well. So proud of him.

Been getting odd cravings ie ham and salad sandwiches and cucumber lots of cucumber!!!

16 weeks two days bump!

Baby Two - First 12 weeks

Finding Out.
We found out about number two the day after our wedding anniversary 20th March. I had been feeling weird and having sore heads and sore boobs for about a week. Plus when James was going to bed I would go lie down and fall asleep.

I ended up sending andy to Asda at half eight at night to get the test as I was so unsure and we both didn't want to wait till the morning. When the two lines appeared the first words I said were "oh c**p" which funnily enough were the same words Andy said when we found out I was pregnant with James.

There were lots of tears from me, as I was pretty stunned as I did want to turn 30 and have James settled in nursery before adding another child into our crazy lives.

But it's happening and I'm starting to get excited.

Eww well no proper sick yet at just over five weeks but omg the nausea has been horrendous. It's literally been coming and going since about four weeks five days, it feels worse first thing or late at night, but it's also been waking me up in the night

I have completely gone off tea which I adore so all I can drink hot is hot chocolate. I'm praying I don't go off that.

I have my rich tea biscuits and lemon tea, so far the biscuits have come in handy when I have needed them at night when I have been feeling rotten.

First midwife appointment is booked so starting to get excited, but also a bit nervous especially about James and his reactions. Our friends brought their 11 week old little girl over at the weekend and James was pretty scared of her.

Six weeks and the aversion to raw meat has started. Finding it so difficult to prepare meals for Andy and James. Nearly vomited cutting raw chicken and when making the bolagnaise well that was another near case of vomiting.

Seven weeks and nausea comes and goes. Finding that I'm really a lot more tired this time, I guess that's to be expected with a crazy two year old running round and being in the middle of moving.

Spent Easter Monday in the metro centre with my parents and James while Andy packed up stuff in the house. Oh boy when I got home I was exhausted. I literally sat down on the sofa and dozed off while Andy took over with James and spent some time with him.

Cannot wait to move out of this house now. I think I will be able to relax a lot more once we are installed at my parents house as when Andy is at work there will be two extra pairs of hands to help with James.

Have had to relent and move into my comfy maternity Jeans as mine were just so un comfortable, also had to buy a pair of black trousers as have a lot of events coming up that I will need them for ie my birthday and of course the moody blues concert in June.

My two best friends now know so phew so glad I have told them. One is due her first baby end of May, so excited to welcome my little nephew. Michelle and her husband are the best aunt and uncle to James and he totally adores them and of course their gorgeous pooch Olly.

Eight weeks and I can finally drink a cup of tea again. Feel so much better after drinking numerous cups a day for years then suddenly going cold turkey well it wasn't nice. Oddly though it needs to be very hot, milky and sweet tea aka four sweetners instead of my normal one or two.

Still getting nausea but really late at night or really early in the morning, so if James wakes in the  night it takes me a while to get moving as I feel so rough.

Nine weeks and had first appointment with midwife yikes all the paper work has changed since I had James. It's starting to feel so real now! James was so good as he had to come with me to appointment. Have chosen to have number two or sproggle as we calling it at the RVI in Newcastle as we will obviously be living in our house by the time sproggle arrives.

I have paperwork to fill in that I will take with me to the scan and consultant appointments at the RVI. But all the paper work for registering at the RVI has been filled in by my current midwife so now it's a case of waiting for the scan date to come through from the hospital. Hopefully it won't take too long so Andy can get the time booked off work. We have worked out he's on late shift the week I turn 12 weeks so hopefully we can get the scan for in the morning so he won't have to book any time off as he does not actually start work till 1230 when he's on a late.

Been feeling really good. Nausea seems to have eased off. Not getting as much but went to eat fish fingers and the texture in my mouth was horrible, so guess I can't eat them any more. Still going crazy for chicken, and have added in frankfurter sausages.

Not sure what this one will be. With James I was convinced since day one he was going to be a boy. My dad thinks this one will be a girl but we think we are more likely to have a boy as there's only been two girls in last three generations in Andy's family and one of those is our niece. Main problem is we only ever had one boys name we liked and that was James! So if his is another boy I think it will take till after its born to name it lol!

Been having a lot of light headedness lately especially when I'm thirsty. I was in Sainsbury's with my parents and James and I had to go get a drink and go through the tills while they finished the shopping.

Ten weeks woo hoo not long till we can finally spill the beans. Andy told his brother the other day. Still getting crazy middle of the night bouts of nausea. But yucky insomnia has started to kick in. Had about three hours sleep on Sunday night so yea was rather grumpy first thing Monday morning.

Hoping to hear this week about a scan date, so we know if Andy needs to book any time off work to come.

Appointments came 1 week and one day after midwife both scan and consultant on same day and close together woo hoo so excited to see our sproggle. Still getting crazy middle of night nausea that combined with three in the bed most nights means poor mummy not getting much sleep. Mind you neither is poor daddy.

Andy got the time off for scan and consultant so happy he will be with me. Hopefully mum and dad will have James in waiting room.
