Freddie at Two and a Half!

My last update on Freddie was done back in November when he turned two. After that milestone I decided it would be better to do updates on him every six months like I do with James.

Since he turned two he has become such a little mischief maker! He loves nothing more than ganging up on his brother and jumping on him shouting squeeze! Poor James has also been on the end of a beating or two from Freddie. The last incident was poor James getting scratched on the eyelid by his darling little brother.

Freddie is also so clumsy! He is always walking into things and banging his head, normally on our kitchen table as he seems to forget he is now way too tall to walk under it! He also has a bad habit of smacking himself in the head with our living room door.

His speech has improved so much, especially in the last four months since he started at our local playgroup! He is saying a lot more words and we can all understand him a lot better! He can now say the name of our neighbours dog Archie and when he sees him he shouts hi Archie hi Archie you ok Archie as if he expects him to answer him back! He has also learned to say the name of one of James friends and her little brother who is a few months younger than him.

He is still wearing a size 4 pull up and a 6+ nappy at night. His clothes are mostly age 2-3 but there are also a few tops in his wardrobe that are age 3-4! Mummy has had to start buying trousers in age 3-4 as he is already starting to outgrow his 2-3 ones in leg length! He seems to be much taller than James was at the same age and he is already catching James up in height!!

His sleeping as still be a bit hit and miss as he kept getting ill and ending up in mummy and daddy's bed, but now we are getting him to start the night in his own bed and most nights he will stay there till at least 11pm. We have had the odd night where he has gone to bed at half six or seven then woken about eleven, been resettled in his bed and then next time he has woken up it's been around half five or six am! But most nights he will end up in with mummy and daddy from around midnight.

We are also in the middle of eliminating anything containing dairy from his diet. We have already removed cows milk, eggs and cheese from his diet and he now drinks almond milk with a little bit of water in at bed time. We have a hospital appointment for him in July to see paediatrics to get the ball rolling as to what is upsetting his poor tummy so much and if that is also the cause of his horrendous sleeping!

He had a brilliant time when we went down to visit Nanny and Pappy in Surrey over the February half term! He absolutely adored their cats Zippy and Cecil! And even now he loves to see them on face time! He loved being out and about in London and he had a great time running around in horse guards parade!

He is absolutely loving his sessions at our local playgroup and so is mummy as it gives me some free time to get work done and also to cook meals for tea without interruption!! He has finally stopped going in crying his eyes out, he normally whines a bit but there are no tears and he always comes running out with a big smile on his face chatting his head off!

He had a brilliant time on the early May bank holiday when we had all the hot weather! We bought a paddling pool for him and James and boy was it difficult to get him out of it! He is such a water baby! He even managed to escape mummy and run back into the garden half dressed and climb in and laugh at daddy!

I cannot wait to see how he does when we go on holiday in October! I think both him and James will have a brilliant time!! I admit I am a bit nervous about flying and being sat two and two!

Our next update on Freddie will be when he turns three!! Argh how is my dinky baby almost three!!

All About James

All About James!

James is now nearly five and a half years old and he's just over a term and a few weeks into year one at his primary school. My last big update on James was his birthday last August and I thought it was about time that I did an update on my big boy!

As the photo shows he always seems to get food all over his face and he hates having his face washed so he took to wearing his spiderman mask this day to cover the mess and to stop us washing his face!

James was the inspiration behind the name Mummy to my little cheeky monkey when he was 20 months old! And he is definitely still very cheeky. He's got beautiful blonde hair and bright blue eyes and is my mini me! He definitely uses the big blue eyes to get his own way and he had his TA in nursery and reception classes wrapped around his little finger!!

Since going into year one at school he has developed a new found love for reading, at bedtime him and daddy have been reading Roahl Dahl books which he has loved! We started last summer reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator! We then moved onto The BFG and The Witches. So for Christmas we bought him George's Marvelous Medicine, The Twits and Fantastic Mr Fox. We do a reward Box with James and when he fills his box we have promised him a new book so he is working so hard to get his stars to get his book!!

Over half term we are going to visit daddy's family in Surrey and we will be spending a day in London as since he learned about the great fire of London in school and of course seeing Big Ben on Go Jetters he has wanted to visit London!!! We are also going to go and see Buckingham Palace as James loves the Queen. He even asked if he could meet her but mummy told him that would be slightly impossible.

He absolutely adores his little brother, well he does most of the time! Some days they are thick as thieves and others James wants him as far away as possible! Poor James is often being chased around by Freddie especially when he gets home from school! Freddie is like his little shadow when he gets home as he has really missed him during the day!

We are so proud of James and how well he is doing at school.

Freddie at 22 months

My little baby bear how can you be 22 months old already! In eight weeks you will be turning two years old! The last two years have gone by so fast!
In the last month your speech has come on so much! You are always babbling your head off! Your favourite words are mum, daddy and gaga! You often pick up my iPad and shout gaga gaga till I out FaceTime on either nana and gaga!
You still absolutely adore your big brother and we have had some tears and tantrums when he goes into school as you miss him so much! Then once we get James home you are his little shadow! You never leave him alone!
You have mastered the stairs like a pro! There's been times you have legged it from mummy and I have found you sitting laughing at the bottom of the stairs!
You are in all 18-24 month clothing with the odd 12-18 top still fitting. You are in a size 4 pull up, but have moved onto the 6+ nappy at night.
You love your milk and have a 9oz bottle at bedtime, with one beaker in the day and numerous cups of water! You love your food and are willing to try anything you are given! You definetly eat more than James at some meals! You are a big fan of fruit and veggies!
You are still very much a mamas boy, you like nothing more than snuggling up with mummy when you are tired, even if you do get muddled and call me daddy at times! When daddy gets in from work though you are his shadow and all I hear is daddy, daddy, daddy!
You have been pretty poorly lately with upset stomach and a virus. I miss my happy little man.
We love you so much titch

Freddie at 21 months

Freddie at 21 Months old!

mummy,Freddie,update,cheeky,little brother,21 months,baby boy,twenty one,toddler

Freddie Bear you are 21 months old and we are now only 12 weeks away from you turning two! Your big brother is five tomorrow so there is three years three months between you pair!

You are definitely my Mr Mischief! You make James look like an angel at the same age! As soon as anyone opens a door you are off trying to escape!

You absolutely adore you big brother and you are loving him being on summer holidays from school! You are going to be so upset when he goes back in ten days time and its back to being just you and mummy during the day again! Hopefully you will be starting playgroup for one afternoon a week from January, this will give mummy a few hours break to get stuff done at home that cannot be done while you are at home or you are napping!

You are still wearing a size 5+ night nappy and a size 4 pull up in the day. You hate having your bum changed and love nothing more than running away mid change! Most of your clothes are now 18-24 and there is also the odd 2-3 bit thrown in.

We are going out tomorrow to for James birthday to xxx, so I hope you boys have a brilliant day! We still have no idea what we are going to do to celebrate you turning two!

We have had a brilliant summer going to soft play, the park, the Metrocentre, Sure Start and Warkworth Castle. You really love being outside and playing in water, so if we are somewhere with water then there is always spare clothes for you as you are sure to get soaking wet! You have been known to go into Sure Start dry and within minutes of you getting outside to the water tray you are soaked!

You are definetly still a mamas boy!

Love you always baby bear xx

Freddie at 20 Months!

So my little menace we are only 16 weeks away from you turning two! We have no idea yet what we are doing! When your brother turned two we went to York for the day, but with your birthday being winter and also during school term we can't really do that for you.

You are now fully off formula milk and are drinking green top cows milk. The next step is to get you off your bottles! You are taking all your water from a munchkin 360 and I have bought you two beakers with silicon teats to try and get you off your bottles at least during the day! So far you have actually taken to one of them pretty well and have most of you milk in the day time from it and only have a bottle at bed time or in the night if you wake up and don't settle back down.

Your sleep can be a little hit and miss, but most nights you sleep from between 7 and half past till at least 6 in the morning. We still do have the odd night where you like to have a rave between 1 and 4am! Generally this happens when you are teething or mummy has noticed if you get disturbed at bed time by your big brother acting up, then you are normally up and down during the night.

You are such a little menace, and accident prone! You just don't know when to stop! You gave yourself two bruises on opposite sides of your head when we were at James school for the singing picnic all because you wanted to run! You do not like to hear the word 'No' if we have to say no Freddie you generally answer with either yea or me.

You are in more 18-24 clothes and take a 5F in shoes. You wear a 5+ nappy at night and a size 4 pull up during the day! You haven't worn a sleep suit at night in a few months as mummy and daddy found trying to get you into one too much of a challenge as you definitely do not like having clothes put on! I think you would be quite happy running around wearing only a nappy.

You love playing games with your big brother, oddly you seem to love him pulling you around the lounge by your ankles. When he does this you are normally laughing hysterically at him. You have also started to climb up onto the sofa next to James if  he is watching his favour YouTube video Scary Flying Shark!

You absolutely love going to our sure start group and I know you will miss going weekly over the summer as it changes to every other week so we only have three groups on over the holidays! But I think you will definitely enjoy the summer groups as you will have your big brother there to play with you!

The next time I write to you Freddie you will be 21 months old and the summer holidays will be all bout over!

Love you always my cheeky boy

Freddie at 18 months old

Freddie how can you be 18 months old! It feels like I have blinked and you have gone from this tiny newborn to this grown up cheeky rascal!

At 18 months old you are wearing a mixture of 12-18 and 18-24 clothes, a size 5+ nappy at night and a size 4 pull up in the day.

You hate having your bum changed or having your clothes put on or taken off! Trying to dress you in a morning is like dressing a moving target! The only time I try and lie you down to change you is if there is poop! Rest of the time your have to stand up!

You absolutely adore your big brother! And the feeling is actually mutual now! James comes rushing over to see you after school when we pick him up, and then once we are home you follow him around like a little shadow! You actually play together pretty well now, you love it when James tickles you and you actually let him pick you up!

You are very much a mummy's boy and if I go out your sight for more than twenty seconds you are screaming blue murder! Unless of course nana and gaga are visiting then you glue yourself to gaga!

We have started going to a new toddler group on a Tuesday morning at a local church hall which you love! We still go to sure start on a Thursday morning and you have been having ball there lately in the nice weather playing in the garden and going on the slide! Although you did get soaking wet playing in the water the one day mummy forgot to bring spare clothes!

You are learning lots of new words, but your favourite words have to be mama and J! As soon as you see your brother you start shouting J! J!

You have a real love for Iggle Piggle after our trip to CBeebies Land and you cuddle up to your little Iggle Piggle every night, so I think we might need to invest in a bigger one for you!

I can't believe we are now on the count down to your second birthday! But of course first we have your big brother turning five!

Love you always my little bear

Freddie at 17 months

So I'm over a week late this month since you have been pretty poorly with an ear infection plus tonsillitis, so I've not had much time for anything bar you clinging to me! You barely ate or slept for over a week!

So 17 months Freddie! We are nearly half way to you turning two!

Your walking has come on such! Especially when we were at Alton Towers! You walked everywhere on the first day in the park! You got to drive Postman Pat's van with James which you loved! You were hitting the horn on the steering wheel and laughing! You had an absolute ball while we were away! You fell more in love with Mr Tumble and Iggle Piggle too! You even came home with a toy Mr Tumble and toy Iggle Piggle, who join you in your cot every night!

So you are in a mixture of 12-18 and 18-24 clothes, you wear a size 5+ nappy at night and a size 4 pull up in the day. You take a size 4.5H in shoes! You love walking on your reins especially when James is holding them!

You are still very much a mummy's boy and love nothing more than snuggling up in bed or on the sofa with mummy! You adore your big brother and miss him very much when he's at school! You love going to your group at sure start although you have missed a few due to illness lately!

You have been known to start hitting the door during the day shouting for James or J as you call him!

Your eating has taken a few steps backwards since u were ill. Your back to eating basically mush. You are starting to eat more solid foods like fruit but I think your throat might still be a bit tender as if u are given pieces of Chicken you are gagging a bit.

I wonder what new tricks you will have by 18 months

Love you always Freddie Bear

Freddie at 16 months

So the biggest thing that's happened with you this month Freddie is that you are now officially walking like a pro! You love nothing more than toddling around the house, very often you are following James!

You are in mostly in 12-18 clothes, but I think you might be going to start wearing 18-24 soon in trousers especially! You wear a size 4 pull-up and a size 5 nappy. You are very hit and miss with your naps some days you will have two other days just one long one!

You start every night in your own cot, but normally end up in with mummy and daddy by 4am! You are teething badly again so as normal you have a nasty cold and snotty nose! You seem to be getting two more top front teeth taking you to a total of 13 teeth!

You have had your first sleepover with James at nana and gaga's house which went well! You slept for eleven hours straight through! I would love you to do that at home again! Mummy and daddy were meant to be going for a meal but both ended up ill.

You are literally obsessed with your brother and love nothing more now than toddling up to him and putting your arms round him!

We all love you so much Freddie Bear
Love always

Freddie at fifteen months!

Freddie you are 15 months old and such a little monkey! You are into everything! You crawl into the kitchen and follow me round like a little puppy! Your favourite game is emptying the draw where I keep the tea towels! It's got to the stage where we have had to put your travel cot up in our lounge and stick you in there if we need to leave the room!

You are wearing 12-18 clothes and a size 5+ nappy at night. You have started wearing a size 4 pull up during the day. We found changing your nappies during the day so challenging as you would crawl off nappyless!

You have been poorly again! We were staying with your nana and gaga, and you were up all of the Saturday night screaming, so nana, mummy and James took you to the urgent care centre and three hours later we found out you had an ear infection.

You are starting to learn to walk and have done five steps so far. But you still prefer to crawl as you can get to places much faster! You do however love walking around holding someone's hand. You had a lot of toddle time in the metro centre with mummy then you had a toddle with gaga and nana!

You mastered climbing the stairs when we were staying with nana and gaga! You were zooming up their stairs, after a couple of days at home you started climbing our stairs, but u always seem to stop half way up!

Your relationship with your big brother is so cute to watch. You love nothing more than climbing on James to give him cuddles! You were playing so nicely with James in the hospital waiting room.

I wonder if by your 16 month update you will be walking? I know I will definitely need eyes in the back of my head as you are definitely my Mr Mischief!

Lots of love

Freddie at 14 months

Freddie you are now 14 months old! Where has the time gone! It really does not seem five minutes since you were a tiny newborn!

You are very mischievous, definitely worse than your brother ever was! You have finally realised you can walk with your push along walkers. It's so funny to watch you zoom across the lounge!

You have discovered we have stairs in our house and that they are for climbing! You love nothing  more than standing at the bottom banging and yelling at James! Although today at 14 months old you made it half way up when you escaped daddy!

You are still in 12-18 clothes with the odd bit of 9-12 thrown in. You hate having your nappy changed! You are always taking off mid change, laughing your head off! You have just graduated to the bath with no bath seat and boy do you give us a soaking!

You love nothing more than playing with your big brother! You think your brother is brilliant and he can always make you laugh! Your face always lights up when your brother comes into the room or when he runs out of school shouting Freddie!

You still love your milk, just as much as food! You are still a mummy's boy.

You have three teeth at the front at the top and four at the front on the bottom! You also have your first molar nearly through on the top left! These teeth have turned my happy boy into such a grump!

Lots of love Freddie bear

Freddie at 11 Months Old

Freddie Bear how can you be eleven months old! Only four weeks and we will be celebrating your first birthday! How can my beautiful little baby be turning one soon! The last eleven months have flown by!

You have learned so much this month! You weighed 20lbs 14oz at your 9-12 month check and are in size 5 nappies. You are also starting to go into 12-18 clothes! Much earlier than James did!  We have lowered your cot mattress as you learned to pull yourself up on the bars and we kept finding you standing up!

Your biggest development has been your progress from army crawling to actual crawling! Mummy needs eyes in the back of her head now as you follow me when ever I leave the lounge! I went to make you a bottle and found you sitting at the front door! You were so pleased with yourself! Within a week though you were following me to the kitchen and escaping the lounge when ever the door was left open! You are also cruising the furniture! You like to spend a lot of time on your feet!

You and mummy had a lovely day out at the baby and toddler show in Manchester. It was a very long day as we left home at six am and got home just before eight pm! Mummy got you some new dribble bibs by Funky Giraffe, some new mam goodies and some of the new flavours from Piccolo!

All your little friends have left our baby social group now. You were the youngest of our little group. Lucky we still see some of them at our Thursday group!

We are starting to buy things in for your birthday now, nanny and pappy are coming up from Surrey and we will see nana and gaga. Poor James will be at school on your actual birthday so it will probably be a tea party on the Saturday and a family meal on the day.

You have been really poorly with a nasty virus, you hardly slept for five nights and when you did sleep it was only on mummy or daddy's chests. You've started napping more in your pushchair during the day, which is a big help to mummy, especially if we need to go out and pick your brother up!

We love you so much our little bear

Freddie at Ten Months

My darling little Freddie how can you be ten months old already! Your first birthday is only eight weeks away!

This month has been a good one. You have learned how to army crawl and are so quick at pulling yourself around our lounge! You can also move your infant to toddler rocker around the lounge!

You are in size 4+ nappies, taking 6oz bottles four times a day but depending on what time you wake up some days you will have five bottles, plus three meals! You eat the same as the rest of us on an evening, but I always mush up and freeze extra so there is always something for your lunch or a night we are eating something brown together!

You were an absolutely dream on our first big trip away as a family of four! We took the coach to London then a train out to Surrey to see your grandparents on your daddy's side. You were absolutely brilliant on the coach eating and drinking and of course sleeping! You were a little bit unsettled the first night we were away and poor mummy ended up sleeping on the sofa with you on my chest.

You have said your first word this month too! And it was mum mum! If daddy or anyone says to you where's mummy you look straight to me and grin! I tried to go to the shop without you one day and you started crying and shouting mum mum! Mum mum! So I had to take you me! You have also started trying to walk when you are held up on your feet! It's so strange you doing this at turning ten months as James was doing this at seven months and then started walking days after he turned ten months!

You have really been missing your big brother since he has started school! The first day he was back you woke up at quarter to seven and then didn't go back to sleep till we finished baby social at half past 11 and we were picking James up! You then slept for two hours! The second week of term we had to pick him up at half past one and you were normally napping then so daddy who was on holiday that week was doing the pick ups while I stayed at home with you sleeping! James has been interacting with you a lot more, which has been so lovely to watch.

We had a massive thunderstorm which first woke up mummy and daddy, then it woke up you and finally it woke up your brother. We were all huddled in one bed for a while till daddy took you downstairs so me and James could get some sleep before I took him to school. It was so lovely to hear James comforting you.

We need to find a new normal now James is in school from nine am till quarter past three. We have our two groups on a Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Sadly once you turn one we will have to find a new group for a Tuesday as you will be too old for baby social. You have made a lot of lovely little friends who you love playing with, but I think your big brother is still your favourite person to play with!

James has already started looking at toys in Tesco for your birthday and Christmas! He wants to get you a dumper truck so you and him can play trucks together!

Till next month my little bear, I love you so much

Freddie at Six Months Old!

Happy half birthday my gorgeous little man.
Your six month birthday has come at a sad time for mummy and nana as we have the second anniversary of losing your great nannie tomorrow (26/5). I so wish you could have met her. She absolutely adored your big brother and I know she would have adored you too.

You got weighed at 24 weeks and you were 16lbs 9oz. You are still in size 3 nappies and virtually all your clothes bar a few bits are 6-9 months. You have between four and five 7oz bottles a day plus your solids! You are a very hungry little boy!

You normally start the day with a bottle between five and six am. You sometimes have a little sleep after but often don't! You have your breakfast around half seven you will have baby porridge or fruit mixed with baby rice. You then have a bottle between half nine and half ten. If we are at a group you will have a snack of fruit between ten and eleven am. You will normally have a sleep and then lunch around one/half one. Normally some vegetable purées mixed with baby rice. You then have another bottle and more sleep. Tea is normally between five and half five depending on when you nap. After tea is normally another bottle. You are normally asleep by eight then sleep right through. We have had the odd occasion where you have woken for extra feed at midnight, but I think that's been a growth spurt.

You are still sleeping in your crib in mine and daddy's room, but will be going into your cot in your own room soon. I will miss waking up to you giggling every morning.

You are still very much a mummy's boy. You often pretend to sleep for daddy then wake up when mummy comes up just so you can get cuddles. I love nothing more than being snuggled up with you either in the big bed or on the sofa! You saw you first FA Cup Final and mummy, daddy and James were very excited that Man Utd won! You also watched the FA Vase with us cheering on Morpeth Town AFC! They are the local team to where we lived when James was your age!

Your brother is starting to play a bit with you. There have been times you are sat in your highchair while I am sorting your lunch or tea out and he's been sat next to you showing you his toys! We have learned some great songs at our groups which I sing to you in the kitchen and James often joins in.

I can't believe next month we will be even closer to you turning a year old! Time is going so fast my little bear. You are also going to be experiencing your first trip to Morpeth Fair Day, where Morpeth Town are parading the trophy, and also your first trip to the hoppings fun fair!

All my love

Freddie at five months!

Oops I'm a few days late posting this!

Five months Freddie how is that possible! It feels like it's gone In a blink of an eye!

You are already growing out of 3-6 month clothing from primark! So you are in a mixture of 3-6 and 6-9. You are in size three nappies and take 7oz bottles every three to four hours! You are mostly sleeping from between six thirty and eight on a night till between six thirty and seven thirty the next morning. It's scary that you are fitting into a 6-9 t-shirt that didn't fit James till he was 11 months old.

We have started weaning you onto solids. I was hoping to wait till six months like the guidelines say but you were downing 7oz feeds every 2-3 hours. We gave you a taste n you loved it. Taking it very slow and introducing new flavours slowly. You are now getting a small breakfast of either baby porridge or fruit purée and baby rice. And then a savoury vegetable at lunchtime. Going to keep you on this till you are six months then introduce you to finger foods and more baby lead weaning. So far you love sweet potato, but not too impressed with courgette. Mummy has a freezer draw full of puréed foods in ice cubes just for you!

You are teething big time so you always have some sort of bib on as you are a dribble monster. You had a brilliant time at nana and gaga's wedding anniversary party. You were such a happy boy, you were awake most of the afternoon and evening with short naps in your pram. The only time you cried was when your gums we're hurting. You were giving everyone big smiles and coos.

You are not the biggest fan of tummy time unless it's on mummy. You love your baby gym and also sitting in James old snug chair!

We have bought a connecta baby carrier which you love! We use it around the house and for popping to the shops. I hope by the time you are six months we may be using it more out and about.

You are still very much a mummy's boy, and like nothing better than cuddling up to mummy on an evening on the big bed to have your last feed. You adore you big brother and are always smiling at him and cooing to him.

James has started to pay you more attention and give you kisses, especially when we take him to nursery! He loves pushing your pram around the yard in the morning!

I can't believe next time I write to you, you will be six months old! Half a year Freddie! We will soon be on the countdown to you turning one! But first we have you big brother starting primary school! I'm so pleased he got into our first choice school, which means in a few years time you will be following in his footsteps and attending the nursery there!

Love you always my little bear cub

Freddie at four months

Seriously Freddie how can you be four months old already!

You started your fourth month Freddie by going to a creative curriculum morning at James school. You had a brilliant time being fussed over by all the little girls in the class while mummy spent some time doing activities with James.

You are now in a mixture of 0-3 & 3-6 clothing, you wear size 3 nappies and take 7oz feeds. You generally have a feed between six and seven then you go into your crib. Daddy normally gives you a dream feed between eleven and midnight, you then generally sleep through till between five and six. You were weighed at 14 weeks and you weighed 13lbs 3oz. You are definitely more chunky than your big brother as he was only 13lbs 2oz at 16 weeks.

You are definitely a mummy's boy, you like nothing better than being cuddled into mummy for a sleep. You have definitely started teething and have the rosiest red cheeks. You love sucking on your fingers or better still chewing on mummy's fingers!

Your love going to your baby groups which we go to on Monday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's. You have found your voice big time and love nothing more than squealing when you want attention.

You are spending more time awake in your pram when we go out now, but you love nothing better than being snuggled into mummy in the carrier.

You have had another cold which resulted in a trip to hospital to get checked over due to coughing. You then missed another week of groups due to James being ill.

You spent your first time away from mummy, when I was away for two nights with daddy. Nana and gaga came to look after you and James.

Cannot wait to see what happens by five months

Love you always my little bear

Freddie Three Weeks Old

Three weeks

So Freddie is now three weeks old! It's gone so fast. Andy has now been back at work a week & we are slowly starting to get into a routine in the mornings.

Freddie now weighs 8lbs 2oz. He's still in newborn size clothing & wearing size 1 nappies. He's moved onto 4oz bottles, taking them every three to fours hours. We have had one episode where he went six hours over night, but he woke up in such a hissy fit, so trying to keep it to a minimum of four hours between feeds. He's got a bit of a cold which he picked up from James, it's making him very snotty & snuffly, so using saline drops to keep his nose clear. He's still very much a mummy's boy. He loves being in his baby carrier for the school run and loves being in his pram. We have had to buy a newborn snowsuit as the ones our friends gave us, which are 0-3 size, swamp the poor boy. He's still being really strong and lifting his head. He passed all his checks with the health visitor too! He's very alert when he's awake too!

Mummy is doing really well three weeks on. I had my stitches out on day ten and everything is great. I only weighed myself a couple of times while I was pregnant & one of those was at the hospital the Friday before I had Freddie, so I was pretty surprised to find I was only 1lb heavier than my pre pregnancy weight fifteen days after having Freddie. I still get the odd twinges of pain, but only if I do too much.

James is still not impressed with his little brother. He is starting to get slightly better at times. He let mummy sit on the floor and build towers with Freddie sitting on my knee. Hopefully having two weeks of school with mummy & Freddie and a few days with daddy too will help him.

Pregnancy update 36 weeks

So 36 weeks, one more week till I'm classed as full term! I really can't believe how fast this time has gone! It really does not seem five minutes since we found out baby boy was on the way, then announcing he was due in May & now it's about to be November the month he is due, not that I am actually expecting him to arrive in November! I'm still convinced he is going to be a December baby!

At my 34 week midwife appointment baby boy was measuring 32 weeks, but that was due to his position. He was head down, but had his body all on my right hand side, with his bum under my right ribs, I have a feeling he has moved since then though. Will find out on Thursday at my 36 week appointment.

He's a proper little fidget and likes nothing more than poking out a foot when I'm trying to go to sleep. I'm still suffering with insomnia, normally starts between one or two am and goes on till three or four am! We had a pretty bad night with James last week, when he wanted to get up for school at half one, so once he was dropped off mummy came home and had a couple of hours sleep before picking him up! To be honest I have at least an hours sleep after dropping him off most mornings.

We have a few events coming up at nursery for James in next few weeks, starting with the nursery rhyme challenge on 4th November when I will be 37+1 weeks. We also have the school Christmas fayre on 27th November, just a few days after baby boy is due! We are going to have to have gaga on standby for that week so James does not miss out on the fayre & nana can stay look after mummy.

I'm starting to struggle with walking so as far as I go on my own is James nursery school which is about a five minute walk from our house. If I need to go any further I have to either get my parents to come down and take me places or wait till either Andy is off on a Friday or Saturday.

We have done most of our Christmas shopping now for family and friends. The trip into town totally exhausted me! We got home and I passed out on the sofa for a couple of hours while James had some daddy time. Nana and gaga had picked him up from school so we didn't have to rush home from town. I think rest of shopping will be done online or after baby arrives! Especially for each other and the last bits for the boys!

I'm really hoping I don't go too far over as I don't fancy being induced! But I'm convinced he's going to be at least a week late like James was!

Pregnancy update 34 weeks

So I'm now 34 weeks pregnant with baby boy two! Cannot believe he is due in six weeks! The time seems to have flown by so quick! But we have been so busy I'm not surprised. What with moving out of rented house, into mum & dads for nine weeks, then into our house it's been a crazy time.

I'm getting lots of movement from baby boy, normally when I'm eating or trying to relax! James voice seems to send him crackers. He is also such a fidget like James was. He seems to like poking out limbs when I'm trying to go to sleep at night.

I'm still suffering really bad insomnia at nights. A few times I have been awake for the day at 3/4am. Lucky James has had a few naps after nursery so I have been able to get some sleep in too. Once baby boy is here I'm guessing the tiredness will be worth it as will be up with him rather than lying wide awake in bed on Facebook.

Nursery is an on going situation with James. He's done a couple of days at full three hours but he seems to have a phobia of using the toilet at school so has been picked up in tears a couple of times as he's been that desperate but scared to go, that being the reason he can't stay I. For full three hours as teachers do not want him holding his wee in that long. Hoping this week we can try and take him into toilet before he goes into the classroom see if that helps him. Other than that he absolutely loves it and gets very grumpy when it's the weekend and he can't go!

This last week we have been practicing fitting the car seat into my parents car with the seatbelt as the base we used in their old car can't be used in the car they have now.

All we need to buy now is the baby milk for the hospital bag and they are all sorted! Still a few practical bits to get for example a changing mat and bedding for Moses basket! I'm hoping we haven't forgotten anything important! But then again hospital is a short walk from Newcastle city centre and all the main shops!

25 week Pregnancy Update

I'm feeling so large at the moment!

Over the last two weeks I have had bad pulled muscles in the bump which were so painful I had to ring community midwives. Turned out to be from picking up James too much. So I have had to seriously cut back on picking him up which has been so hard. Means no bath time for James when daddy is on late shift.

I have been sleeping so much better since I got my giant U shaped pillow. It's supporting both the bump and my back. Can't believe it's only 15 weeks till due date, but I'm convinced little Mr H is going to be at least a week late.

Been getting a lot of kicks and squirms from baby boy! He's definitely getting more active! He seems to be at his most active on an evening when I'm settling James down in bed, think I'm going to have another Thomas fan on my hands as he kicks away while I'm reading Thomas stories to James.

Speaking of James, he has turned into a threenager over this last week! We have had serious rebelling against mummy and daddy. He's been climbing on daddy's desk and into the back window and standing on the window ledge. Then he discovered he could do the same in the front window which resulted on Saturday night with the curtain rail half down then on Sunday afternoon he pulled the whole thing down! Daddy put it back up, but no sooner had daddy left for work on Monday he pulled it completely down again!

Over all I'm feeling pretty good. Next update will be at 28 weeks eek!

23 weeks pregnancy update

So I'm now 23 weeks pregnant so have 17 weeks left till we meet our baby boy or if he's like his big brother add on another week (James was 1 week 1 day late)!

So in the last couple of weeks we have started to prepare stuff as we worked out that Andy won't have another big chunk of time off till baby arrives. Andy finished painting the bedroom that will be babies. We bought the wardrobe and sorted clothes that a friend gave us.

We have started buying bits and pieces of clothing mostly sleep suits and vests. We picked up our changing bag last weekend. We went for the Babymoov Style after I read review from Jodie at http://www.lifewithpinkprincesses.co.uk

James is starting to take more of an interest now we have chosen a name for little man, so has started saying good night and good morning to my bump.

Mummy is feeling rather large. Looking back at photos of when I was 23 weeks with James I'm definitely bigger this time. The bump is definitely starting to get in the way when cooking and especially bathing James.

Baby boy has started getting very active over the last week and moving constantly as one minute the kicks are on my left hand side then next time they are on my right hand side. Hopefully he won't be like his big brother who spent the last 8-10 weeks of my pregnancy constantly on my left hand side and very low making walking and sitting very uncomfortable.

We have started gathering bits together for my hospital bag ie my wash bag as that was the part I left till last minute last time and forgot stuff. Have a rough idea about what I'm putting into babies bag.

So will update again in a few weeks!!!
