Living Arrows 2020 Week 46/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week.

Last week James had his first Cubs session on zoom. He seemed to really enjoy it from what I could hear. He also got Star of the Day at school on Wednesday

Freddie was also back to school after his two week isolation which included the half term holiday.

Living Arrows 2020 Week 45/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week.

So this week has been crazy with Freddie being at home and James in school. Andy has been trying to not be on the phone a couple of days when he started at 8am so he could watch Freddie while I dropped James off and similar in the afternoon he's tried to take his break around the time I was leaving to pick James up, just so Freddie wasn't sat on his own!

This was also the week where the second lockdown started and The Scout Association had to stop all face to face meetings again. Luckily we managed to get all the Thursday groups to meet earlier in the week so none of the kids lost out on this week's meetings. James is pretty grumpy about the fact he will not have face to face Cubs for a few weeks. James also received his Chief Scout Bronze Award this week. During the big lockdown earlier in the year, James threw himself into finishing all the badges at Beavers that he had already started as he wanted to get his award. He was one of three members who gained it during the lockdown!

Living Arrows 2020 week 44/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week.

So this week was half term. We had planned Monday as a quiet day since James had been hiking over the weekend, however it turned pretty manic as at lunchtime mummy received an email from school about Covid cases and until a text message came later on we had no idea which one of the boys the letter was actually about. It ended up being Freddie so he was then in isolation for the rest of the school holiday.

James was pretty grumpy as with Freddie in isolation and daddy working we could not even go out for a walk. Luckily Freddie has had no signs and has been perfectly fine so he will be back to school next week

This week it was James first day back at school since the 18th of March! He was quite excited about going back, but a little bit apprehensive about all the changes.

Freddie went to stay with nana and gaga for the night as he does not start reception till the 14th September. Poor kid threw such a tantrum outside the gate because he wanted to go now and not wait another week!! But he did see his two best friends as they were dropping off their older siblings who are in James class!

Living Arrows 2020 Week 36/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week.

This week James has been spending some time with his Nana and Gaga. Normally in the Easter holidays and May half term James will spend a couple of days visiting without mummy and Freddie, before we come and join him for a few days. But obviously with the Covid19 situation this year, neither of those trips to their house happened. So we decided with the fact he has ended up with seven weeks for his summer holiday he could go up for a few days the last week of his holidays. He has had a great time!!

Freddie has had a quiet week at home with mummy, while daddy has been working. We had to wait in one day for a parcel being collected for daddy and we also took a trip to tesco which was Freddie's first time there since the start of March!! We have also spent a lot of time playing with his wooden trains!

This week was quite a busy one as we celebrated James 8th Birthday, picked up James new glasses and then finally went out to get the boys new black trainers for school!

James had a fantastic birthday and was totally spoilt rotten! He absolutely loved getting the Knight Bus from Harry Potter in Lego and him and daddy had great fun building it over three nights while mummy was putting Freddie to bed!

Living Arrows Week 2020 33/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week.

This week the boys have been to see Nana and Gaga again for a couple of days. James needed to get his eyes tested as he was overdue a sight test due to the Covid19 Lockdown and since we could not get a child's appointment at our local optician in Newcastle we had to go to their branch in Morpeth, So Freddie got left with Gaga while mummy and nana took James to his eye test. Nana stayed in the car while we were in. Mummy was so impressed with how it all worked and James was a superstar and not phased at all by all the staff wearing PPE.

Freddie has turned into such a tinker! He loves posting things out of our letter box or if we have the door open he throws things out. He has also taken to throwing things out of the upstairs windows! We have a 10cm window restrictor on the boys bedroom window, but that does not stop the little tinker opening the window and throwing out his megablocks!

The boys were still at nana and gaga's and I rejoined them on Wednesday night. We had some really lovely weather so many trips to the beach. On Saturday James and mummy went to a socially distanced bbq that our group scout leader hosted. James loved meeting his two dogs!

So the lockdown has been slightly lifted and non essential shops have been allowed to reopen! Yeah I'm still not taking the boys out. We are staying home as much as we can. Mummy is only leaving the shops once a week and thats to go to Tesco for extra supplies!

James has been working very hard on another badge for Beavers which is now almost complete! Freddie has been just a little tinker and very naughty! I think the whole no nursery and not seeing any of his little friends is really starting to get to him!

Living Arrows 2020 Week 22/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week.

So it's lockdown week erm 11? I literally have no idea how long it has been. All I know is we've not seen my parents since 16th March and that's the longest time the kids have never seen them!

This week was technically the school half term week. We should have started the weekend by visiting Carnival Marra with Beavers, but we obviously did it virtually.

Most of the week James has spent in his pj's lol! He was quite difficult this week as normally we would have been staying with Nana and Gaga for the week. The last time the boys stayed there was February!

We did get James's out for one walk, we waited till daddy had finished work and then we all went together!

This weeks pictures are well James doing hiss selfie with Maddie and Greg. And. As for Freddie well this is how we found him the other night in his bed!

I've totally lost all sense of what day it is and how long we have been in lockdown now.
The boys are losing the plot now and the naughty behaviour is creeping in. Especially from Freddie. When we have been on walks he has been running off on the field to hug the trees!

This last weekend should have been a big scout camp called carnival marra which me and James were meant to have been visiting with Beavers, so instead they put a virtual camp online and mummy and James and Freddie did two out of the three nights!

So its lockdown week nine? All the talk this last week has been about the schools reopening. We have not made a final decision about Freddie and won't till much nearer the time and when we also actually have a date that our school is reopening.

The boys have spent a lot of time playing together this last week. I think when one of them does go back to school the other will really miss them!!

So this week Freddie had failed the soya ladder at stage 3. But on a plus side padding stage 1 and 2 has opened up so many new foods to his diet!

James is so bored with the whole home school now, but he isn't in the list for first to return. He will go back but only when his head teacher says its safe for him to go in.

This week its the start of lockdown week 7, its also a 4 day week as its VE Day on Friday.

Last week the boys were part of a world record attempt for the largest camp. This was an idea by our Scouting District Northumberland Scouts that actually went viral! At the time of writing this over 90,000 people had registered to say they had joined in!

The boys slept so well in their den! Mummy was all cosy with the monkeys too!

Another week of lockdown is over! The boys have been watching a lot of Disney +! They have been watching Puppy Dog Pals and PJ Masks!

It was also mummy's birthday on Friday so we watched Mary Poppins and chilled out with Tacos for tea then cake!

On Saturday mummy did a supermarket trip, with one big essential item bought - shoes for Freddie! He has suddenly out grown all his shoes! Then on Saturday night we joined in a video call with our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts for a virtual camp fire. James, mummy and Freddie then camped in our den in the lounge overnight!

So another week of lockdown is done. The boys are starting to struggle with the no going out, especially as we have just had Easter weekend when we would have normally seen my parents.

We have finally been able to get some of Freddie's vitamins, but everytime we go to Tesco we are checking the stock and grabbing some if they are in as he needs to take two a day!

So the second week of lockdown. Both the boys are starting to loose the plot. They are both missing school and their friends. We have been watching PE with Joe Wicks on YouTube and also Lets Go Live with Maddy and Greg also on YouTube.

Mummy and James are both missing Beavers! We had a virtual meeting on Monday night and it was so lovely to see every one! We even met a few family pets!
