Music has always been a big part of my life, but since we bought the Google Home Mini back in January I always have music on in the kitchen when I am cooking or sorting washing out. I will also have music on while I am working on the laptop! In fact I have music on while I am writing this post!
We have got my Spotify account attached to the Home Mini So today's post is all about what are my most played albums on Spotify!
Album Number One is Disney Lullaby Album. This album has been a godsend for getting Freddie to sleep on a night.
Freddie is one of those kids that needs music to go to sleep. Where as James would use his Baby Tad, Freddie seems to need music to get to sleep!
Normally the album only needs playing once and then he is asleep, but a few times it has had to be played two or three times!
Album Two is Stronger Together by D-Side. Now this band was a huge part of my teenage years and my early twenties.
This album was the only one released in the UK, but another three were released in Japan, which I actually ordered online and imported!
I am always playing this in the house as it is one of my favourite albums! I still keep in touch with some of the guys online. In fact Derek actually presents on Milkshake on Channel 5 which the boys love!
And finally Album Number Three is Elliot Minor by you guessed it Elliot Minor! I first saw this band when they were called The Academy and they supported McFly in Newcastle.
After that I was hooked on them! I saw them do small shows on their own tours, They also did a full tour supporting McFly and I saw them in Manchester when I was at university and then I came home to see them play in Newcastle as we were front row! They released two albums, but this one is my favourite and I have it on virtually every day!
So there you go these are my Top Three Spotify most played albums! If you can suggest any music to listen too or if you have listened to these three let me know what you think of them!
When I was a teenager and in my early twenties I totally loved my music and my boybands such as Westlife, Boyzone and D-Side. But since having the boys I have totally lost interest in music. Back then I could always tell you who was number one in the charts but now I couldnt even tell you what day the chart was released on!
Now tend to listen to all my old music via Spotify when I am working during the day! I tend to listen to Westlife and D-Side the most as they were my favourite bands growing up although I didnt actually meet Westlife properly till I was in my mid twenties and I had moved down to Surrey to live with Andy! It was easier to get into London to see them at breakfast television!
With D-Side I met them so many times I lost count! One of the guys is now a presenter on Milkshake on Channel 5, its so funny watching him on there and the boys loving him singing when mummy used to go and see him virtually every few weeks growing up!
My all time favourite band is actually a band from the 60s/70s/80s/90/00s called The Moody Blues. They are my dads favourite band and he brought me up listening to them! I first went to see them in concert when I was 5 years old and I have never missed a UK tour since! I even took James to see them just before he turned 3 and he loved them!
So this is all about my top music choices to listen to when I am working! What would you recommend for me to listen to which is a bit more recent!
So lately I've been listening to alot of music when Freddie has been in playgroup while I have been working on my laptop. I'm definitely a lover of boy bands and classic rock bands. In fact my favourite band recently got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (post coming on that soon!)
So I decided to have a look on the internet and see what was number one ten years ago and five years ago, basically to see if I could remember the songs!
So five years ago the number one single covering 22nd April was Need U (100 Percent) by Duke Dumont ft Ame. I literally have no idea who this is! I had to actually look you on YouTube who they are!
Ten years ago the number one single covering this time was American Boy by Estelle ft Kanye West. Now this is a song that I do remember and did like at the time. It wasn't the kind of song I would normally listen too, but I did hear it on numerous nights out in Manchester where I was living at the time!
and finally twenty years ago. The number one single twenty years ago was Its Like That by Run DMC versus Jason Nevins. Again this was not something I would normally listen to, but I definitely remember seeing them on Top of the Pops.
So that is what was number one five, ten and twenty years ago. I have really lost all interest in up to date music since my boys were born, so give me some classic rock music and I am happy!!
