SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe Review

When Freddie was younger we reviewed the fantastic SnoozeShade original for his pram and now two years later we are still using it. So when the lovely SnoozeShade team asked if we would like to review the plus deluxe version we jumped at the chance!

The SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe is absolutely brilliant. It has a zip across the top for a sneak peak of the child, and the snooze panel is made up of two parts, one blocks 80% of uv rays allowing the child to be able to see out. The second part of the panel velcros over and together they block 97.5% of uv rays. The panels can be left open as it gives the child some shelter from the elements.

We were planning to take the plus deluxe on its maiden test drive on a day out in London over half term! But as our original pushchair broke on the way to my in laws house we never got a chance to test it out on the one we replaced it with.

I had done a test run on our original travel pushchair before we had gone away and I totally fell in love with the plus deluxe! The plus deluxe fastens on with little poppers compared to the velcro that the original has. I love the little pocket to tuck the blackout layer into when it's not in use.

Our first chance to use the plus deluxe was just after the school holidays! Freddie had been to playgroup on the Tuesday afternoon and I had taken our Mamas and Papas Armadillo up to the school to collect him. It was a bitterly cold afternoon and we had 30 minutes to hang around before we could pick up James.

It literally took five minutes to fit onto the pushchair, even with Freddie playing peekaboo with it! I love the fact it shelters Freddie from the wind as well as the sun. We had the blackout panel half zipped down so it gave Freddie lots of protection from the elements!

Since then we have used it a few more times to block out the wind and the cold temperatures off Freddie. I'm really looking forward to taking the SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe to Majorca later in the year so much so that  I can't wait to take the SnoozeShade up to my mums house and test it out on the Joie Nitro that we will be taking to Spain with us later in the year!

Out and About with the One Hand Fold Pushchair

Welcome to the next part of our review into the BabyStart One Hand Fold Pushchair!
This post focuses on taking it out and about in Tyne and Wear.

We were invited to Fratello’s restaurant, which is based at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Jesmond, to attend an event with Messy Little Thing. I thought this would be the perfect time to take the pushchair out on a test run in Tyne and Wear especially as it involved walking, public transport and then we would be having a meal in a restaurant so the pushchair might need to be folded down.

We had a short walk from our house down to the local metro station and then a fifteen minute ride on the train and then a five minute walk at the other end!

The pushchair passed the first test which was taking it backwards out of our front door like I do with our big pushchair.

On the walk down to the metro station, the pushchair felt a bit odd to push, like it didn’t want to go in the direction I wanted it to go in. This was solved once we got to the metro station as I realised I had only taken one of the wheel locks off so one was on swivel and the other was on locked.

The pushchair went onto the train with ease and I was able to sit on the sideways seats by the door with Freddie parked in front of me and he took up very little room. People could still walk past and down the aisle with ease.

At the other end we got off the train no problem and into the lift. The biggest test for the pushchair in my opinion would have been the ticket barriers at Jesmond station. I knew from using Haymarket station that I always needed to use the wide gates with our bigger pram, But the BabyStart One Hand Fold went through the normal sized ticket barrier with plenty of space to spare!

It handled the bumpy ground with ease on the way to our event venue and inside to the venue it pushed great on the carpets of the hotel corridor.

On the way back we had to walk quite quick from our local metro station as we had to get back to pick up James from school, but again the pushchair handled brilliant!

Over all I was really pleased with how it handled on our first trip out with it! The next test for the pushchair will be travelling via train to visit the boys grandparents in Surrey in a few weeks time!

Unboxing of the BabyStart One Hand Fold Pushchair

For the last few months we have been looking for a new pushchair for Freddie. As we are going to be going on two big trips this year we started looking for something that was a bit more travel friendly.

We currently use a Mamas and Papas Armadillo which we adore, but if we need to fold it, even though it is lightweight when it’s folded it is awkward to carry when we are carrying Freddie.

When we saw that Argos had the BabyStart One Handed Fold Pushchair reduced from £119.99 down to £46.99 we decided to get one to try out!

The reviews on the Argos website were kind of mixed, some were good and some were bad. But I think reviews of all pushchairs can be like that as we have seen some shocking reviews of the Armadillo and we ourselves had a terrible time with the one we had when James was a toddler.

Weighing only 5kg and suitable for children from six months to three years or weigh up to 15kg. When it is folded its dimensions are Length 55cm, Width 45cm and Depth 23cm. It has fixed recline positions, a 5 point harness, Lockable front swivel wheels, a handle height 97cm , Linked brakes and  an aluminium chassis.

This is going to be fantastic for us when travelling especially on the train as it means we should be able to put it in the overhead rack or under one of our seats! And with any luck we should be able to pop it up and strap Freddie in while still in the train carriage!

I picked this up from Argos and carried it back to our house no problem in a bag plus pushing Freddie in his Armadillo! Ok we might have got the free T1 bus from Tesco to the local shops and then walked from the shops to home, but that is what we quite often do when we have been up to Kingston Park.

The box contained: The chassis with fixed seat unit, The bumper bar and the two front wheels! The pushchair also came in its own carry bag which will be fantastic for when we take it to Majorca later this year!

When we got it home I started to assemble it and found it so simple. It was a case of open the box, open the bag, unclip the lock and unfold then click on front wheels and bumper bar! It was all set up and ready to go within about twenty minutes of us getting back into the house! It took me a few minutes to work out the folding mechanism, but once I had has put it up and down a few times I had it down to a tee!

I really cannot wait to take this on the train in a few weeks time and give it a real test out on a day out in London! This photo is two photos of the pushchair one with bumper bar and one without! Since these were taken we have also added out spare footmuff to it so we know that Freddie will be nice and cosy especially on a day out and London in February and of course when we are crossing London and getting the train to their grandparents house in the evening.

**We purchased this Product with our own money and chose to write this review of it to show how useful it is in everyday life!**

Mamas and papas armadillo Review

Out of all the buggies we have had for James, and yes we have had a few! The armadillo has to be the best one!

We purchased it in February this year when James out grew his smaller buggy and he got too heavy for us to push in his sola.

Its tag line from mamas and papas is "the little big stroller" and it is just that. James has plenty of room to grow in it and even when hes asleep and lying flat he don't need the leg rest down.

When the pushchair is reclined all the way the hood does not move as the material at the back goes down.

The colour we have is described as coral pink but its more red hence why we chose it for a boy.

I feel very confident traveling with James on my own with this pushchair as I am able to hold James and fold the pushchair up with one hand and carry them both on board a bus.
