Freddie One Year Old

Our darling Freddie Bear Happy birthday! Today you are a whole year old and what a year it's been!

You slotted into our family and completed us. Mummy daddy and James love you so much!

You have such a cheeky personality and a gorgeous smile! You love nothing more than getting attention from your big brother! You have blue eyes and light brown hair, nothing like James who has the blonde hair and blue eyes!

So you are in a mixture of 9-12 and 12-18 clothes and size 5+ nappies! You are a speedy crawler and we definitely need eyes in the back of our heads with your! We take our eyes of you for a second and you are off! Either under daddy's desk, out an open door or climbing something!

You sleep has been pretty bad since u had the sickness bug. You simply refuse to sleep in your cot! The only places you will sleep are your pushchair, mummy and daddy's bed or mummy's arms! Poor mummy has spent many nights curled up on the sofa with you in my arms!

You absolutely love watching milkshake on a morning with James! You love Thomas and friends just like your brother! Sadly you also like Peppa Pig and have been known to say Peppa!

You can say a few words mama, dada, mum mum, gaga. Nana is most upset you haven't said nana yet!

You love your food! Three meals a day plus deserts and snacks, but you are still having four bottles most days. Mummy is not worried about that as your brother was the same. He didn't drop down his milk intake till he was 14 months. Although now at four James is still a milk monster!

It really does not seem five minutes since you were the tiny newborn lying on my chest, the last year has gone so fast! You are very much a mummy's boy and love nothing more than being snuggled up on my lap. You love cuddles of anyone who will give them! You quite often crawl off to your friends mums and give them cuddles at baby group.

We love you so much Freddie Bear and I cannot wait to watch you grow into a wonderful little boy.

All my love

Freddie at 11 Months Old

Freddie Bear how can you be eleven months old! Only four weeks and we will be celebrating your first birthday! How can my beautiful little baby be turning one soon! The last eleven months have flown by!

You have learned so much this month! You weighed 20lbs 14oz at your 9-12 month check and are in size 5 nappies. You are also starting to go into 12-18 clothes! Much earlier than James did!  We have lowered your cot mattress as you learned to pull yourself up on the bars and we kept finding you standing up!

Your biggest development has been your progress from army crawling to actual crawling! Mummy needs eyes in the back of her head now as you follow me when ever I leave the lounge! I went to make you a bottle and found you sitting at the front door! You were so pleased with yourself! Within a week though you were following me to the kitchen and escaping the lounge when ever the door was left open! You are also cruising the furniture! You like to spend a lot of time on your feet!

You and mummy had a lovely day out at the baby and toddler show in Manchester. It was a very long day as we left home at six am and got home just before eight pm! Mummy got you some new dribble bibs by Funky Giraffe, some new mam goodies and some of the new flavours from Piccolo!

All your little friends have left our baby social group now. You were the youngest of our little group. Lucky we still see some of them at our Thursday group!

We are starting to buy things in for your birthday now, nanny and pappy are coming up from Surrey and we will see nana and gaga. Poor James will be at school on your actual birthday so it will probably be a tea party on the Saturday and a family meal on the day.

You have been really poorly with a nasty virus, you hardly slept for five nights and when you did sleep it was only on mummy or daddy's chests. You've started napping more in your pushchair during the day, which is a big help to mummy, especially if we need to go out and pick your brother up!

We love you so much our little bear

Blogtober Day Two

So today's Blogtober prompt is An Old Photo Of You!

So this is a very old photo of me! I think I was about three when it was taken!
I remember my mum and dad had it on the wall in our house! I have shown this photo to friends and a lot of people have said it's like James just with long hair!

Freddie at Eight Months!

Freddie bear how can you be eight months old! It really does not seem five minutes since you were born.

You have come on so much this month! You are eating three meals a day plus normally four bottles of 6oz! You are in a size 4+ nappy and your clothes are a mixture of 6-9 and 9-12.

Your favourite foods are currently porridge normally with fruit purée mixed in and pasta either in a sauce or baked in oven with cheese. You have developed a love of oranges and bananas from snack time at you baby groups!

You adore your big brother and find him fascinating to watch and laugh at! You are sitting up most of the time now on your baby gym or a blanket playing with your toys. You prefer when having your bottle to be in your chair or sat upright on mummy's knee. The only time you snuggle into me for feed is when you are tired.

You love having cuddles with mummy especially at bed time. You don't like daddy putting you to bed so most nights you end up lying snugged into mummy at bed time.

You don't have a set time for napping. Normally it's just as and when you feel like it. Most of the time you nap when we go out in your pram.

You are such a happy baby and rarely cry. You are still very much a mummy's boy and you do not like being left in a room while mummy pops to kitchen or toilet. You get very vocal and loud!

Love you always my gorgeous little man

Freddie at Seven Months

Freddie Bear how can you be seven months old!

You are now in size four nappies. I haven't had you weighed at baby clinic for a few weeks as I haven't been able to get an appointment, but we got the scales out at fun, play and learn last week and you were 17lbs 5oz! You are in all 6-9 clothing with the odd 9-12 top thrown in from primark! You seem to be a size ahead in their clothing! You love your food and are eating three meals a day. You are still having five bottles most days but only having 5oz instead of 7oz.

You can sit unaided for a few minutes till you get distracted and topple over. You have also discovered rolling from your back to your tummy! Now everytime you are put on your back you flip over, it makes dressing you and changin your nappy very challenging! You can also move yourself around in a circle on your mat or a blanket. You love your baby gym and your infant to toddler rocking chair the most.

This month you have finally moved into your big boy cot in your very own room! The first night you woke at 0230am, so came in with mummy & daddy. The second night you woke up at 0430am and again came in with us. But the third night you slept from half past eight till half past six! Mummy and daddy are so proud of you!

You experienced the swings at the park for the first time. You were not impressed with the big swings, but you loved the basket swing! You loved it even more when you got to swing on your big brothers knee!

Your favourite person is definitely your big brother! You save all your best smiles for James! You can never take your eyes off him.

You love going to our baby groups and are really taking an interest in playing with the other babies!

You have been to two fairs and slept through most of both! You are not liking your stroller one bit as you can't see mummy to chat with!  So I think we will be sticking with the pram for a while longer!

Love you always my little bear

Freddie at Three Months!

Freddie Bear how can you be three months old already! It does not feel five minutes since you were born and all of a sudden you are three months old!

You are smiling so much now and cooing! You are loving your bath time and it's my favourite time of the day as you are smiling and laughing at me! You don't like having your hair washed just like your big brother!

You are in size two nappies & wear 0-3 clothes. You are taking 5oz at every feed normally every three hours but quite often you decide to go every two hours.

You sleep pretty good which I'm so proud of. You generally have a feed around nine pm then wake between three and four then sleep till around seven or eight. We have had the odd night though where you have had a feed at eleven pm then slept through till seven am!

You have moved out of your moses basket and into a crib, still in mummy and daddys room though as you are a bit of a grumper in your sleep and we want to keep you in with us. I know James was in his room at eight weeks but his room was closer to ours then and yours would be at opposite end of the upstairs. Plus with the fact you had the Bronchiloitis and you still get pretty snuffly during the night.

Your hair is starting to go blonde like your big brother, you still have blue eyes like mummy, daddy & James but yours are a deep blue where as your big brothers are a bright blue!

We have so much to look forward to this year with your first trip to the beach being the one I'm looking forward to the most! I'm hoping you have a better reaction to the sand than your brother who hated the beach and cried every time we went till he was three when he suddenly had a change of heart and loved it!

We have got ourselves into a brilliant routine in the mornings when James is at nursery! We go to three groups a week on a Monday, Tuesday & Thursday! On a Wednesday and Friday we chill out at home, you normally have a feed and chill on your bean bag while mummy does house work or does Blog work!

You absolutely adore your big brother and you cannot take your eyes off him when he is in the room! You love it when you are on your play gym and he comes over and plays with the balls as it makes a funny noise which you love! James is getting better with you, he has held you a few times and also kissed your head! He loves switching on your owl when you are grumping in your bed or if you are crying on your changing mat he will bring you a toy!

I wonder what you will be doing at four months! James was starting on solid food but I really hope you are not following in his footsteps!

Love you always my little bear cub

Freddie at Two Months

Freddie you are now two months old! Its crazy how fast the last two months have gone!

You started your second month with a stay in The Great North Children's Hospital with a bout of bronchiolitis. It was a long three days & nights for mummy, daddy & James and of course nana & gaga too. You had to be fed by tube for 48 hours & you were also on 0.5 litres of oxygen. Mummy never left the hospital while you were in. It broke my heart seeing you so poorly.

You are just going into 0-3 size clothing although you are still in newborn vests & also sleep suits from mamas and papas. Just like your brother your feet and legs are growing out of sleep suits before your top half! You are in size two nappies. When you were weighed at six week & five days old, Mummy was shocked to see you were 9lbs 13oz! You seem to be hitting the same weights as James did but a week or two before he did. Then when you got weighed a week later before your injections you were 10lbs 7oz! No wonder I thought you were heavy!

Your feeding has been crazy due to your hospital stay as your feeds were reduced to only two ounces so it took a couple of weeks to get you back up to the four ounces you were on before you were ill. You are generally sleeping from 8 or 9 at night till normally around 3am, then back to sleep till around half seven. Because of this you are feeding every two hours in the day. You can also be such a fuss pot when daddy is giving you a bottle, you will take an ounce & pretend to fall asleep so daddy will pass you to mummy, then suddenly wake up & want the rest of you bottle.

You had a lovely first Christmas, despite being ill & got spoilt off our family & friends! Your favourite presents were your bean bag from nana & gaga, your baby gym from nanny & pappy and your lullaby owl from mummy & daddy.

You seem to sleep better when there is either noise around or when you are in your pram, so when James is at nursery you are normally wide awake! You have started smiling a lot lately mostly at mummy or James. You can never take your eyes of your big brother. James still has finally given you a quick cuddle & he has started stroking your head when you are in your basket. I think now you are getting bigger and vocal he's not as scared of you.

You went to a birthday party for our friends daughter turning one, you got a nice kiss and cuddle of the birthday girl!

You went with James for his pre school injections, he was pretty upset, yet you slept through his crying. When it was yours the week after you screamed, which mummy wasn't surprised with. You also had your eight week check at the same time & you were showing off your smile.

I wonder what you will be doing next month

Love you Freddie bear

Freddie one month old

Freddie you are one month old & it's your first Christmas Day.

The past month has flown by! I really can't believe that you are a month old already. You hate being put down and like nothing more than being snuggled up on mummy's chest.

You are still in newborn clothing and size 1 nappies. You are taking 4oz bottles every two and half to four hours. You have given us a few five hour blocks over night which is good. You get so grumpy if your bottle is taken away from you. You seem to be taking after your big brother and like music channels and of course the jingles on sky news - they seem to always grab your attention.

You love doing tummy time on your changing mat, which James hated till he was a few months old. Again just like James you have amazing head control and have done since the day you were born. We have had a few instances where you have tried rolling during tummy time, as much as I love you copying your big brother and his development I want you to slow down so we can savour every moment! I'm hoping you are not an early crawler like James! I'm not ready for two little boys following me around the house!

You have been a bit poorly with a cold and now a cough but I suppose it's to be expected with a big brother bringing home germs from nursery.

I'm so excited for Christmas and our family being completely. You have really just slotted in and it feels like you have always been here. I know you won't know what's going on but I'm excited for our day.

I really wish your great nannie could have met you, I'm sure she would have loved you as much as she loved James. I hope when you are older you will like to hear about her & I'm sure James will teach you all the songs and things she taught him.

James is starting to get braver around you & actually let mummy and daddy give you both cuddles at the same time. Hopefully by two months old he may have actually given you a cuddle!

Love you lots my little Freddie Bear

New crayons from old crayons

Every child I know seems to have a box of crayons and if they are anything like James them about ninety percent will probably be broken.

I saw on Pinterest about melting down old crayons and using ice cube moulds to make new shaped ones. Now our mould is heart shaped so we set about making our new from old crayons.

First we dug out all the crayons of the same colour but different shades, ie all the Reds, all the greens, all the blues etc.

We broke them and unpeeled the paper off them and put them into an old pan.

Then we tured the heat on low and watched them slowly melt. We used a wooden spatula to stir and mix the melted wax then we poured into our mould.

We then put our mould into a ceramic dish and poured cold water round the side to help the crayons set.

Once they were set, we popped them out of the mould and hey presto new heart shaped crayons from old broken crayons.
