Living Arrows 2020 13/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week

So homeschooling has begun! James has been doing so well with all the changes and has been doing so well with his maths work. The school have provided plenty of work but we have also downloaded resources for both the boys. James has also done a bit of work for Beavers on one of his activity badges. His deputy head suggested incorporating Beavers badge work into school work to keep him interested. So he has finished his maps for his navigators badge. There have been a few moments of emotional meltdowns, I think the whole not being allowed to go out and about is getting to him, rather than it being his choice this is being forced on him.

Freddie on the other hand has been finding it difficult. He does not seem to understand why he cannot see his friends and his teacher. So we have been watching a Jolly Phonics video on YouTube that the school gave us the link to along with playing a Jack and the Beanstalk game which Freddie has beaten mummy at numerous times!! We have also been working on a maths workbook and also an alphabet workbook.

This week has not been the best with all the stuff in the media! James had now had Beavers called off and Freddie had forest school called off.

Then by Wednesday we were on self isolation due to daddy being sent home, then the announcement of the school closures came!

It was also mummy and daddy's wedding anniversary which again all got cancelled.

We have made the best of it though and spent time as a family over the weekend. James has learnt how to make gluten free bread in our bread maker and Freddie has been practicing for the virtual camp the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are having in April to replace our activity day!

AD - Review of Robberty Bobberty by Rachel Coverdale

Over the last few years, we have reviewed a couple of books by the author Rachel Coverdale, Who hides here? Footprints in the garden and Who hides here? Footprints in the farm. So when Rachel sent me an email asking if the boys would like a copy of her new book - Robberty Bobberty and Friends we were thrilled!

The book arrived while James was at school, so Freddie actually got the first look at it and he was thrilled! He kept shouting "Read it mummy!"

Robberty Bobberty is the tale of a young bunny rabbit who has so much energy his mum tells him to go out and learn something new as he was under her feet!

Freddie absolutely loved the story! The character of Robberty Bobberty actually reminds mummy of James and Freddie as both boys have so much energy and literally get under my feet if we are in the house!

The book has been illustrated by Shelly Oyston and her illustrations in this book are absolutely amazing! The detail that goes into each drawing is amazing!

Both boys have loved the story and it has become a firm favourite with both of them! James is now actually able to read the book himself so mummy has to keep rescuing it from his book pile so it can be read to Freddie when he gets home from nursery!

Mummy absolutely loves this story and it is such a fun story! Well done Rachel on another fantastic book!

'3 Tips For A Smoother Home Move

Moving house can be one of the most stressful experiences that you go through in life.
The disruption involved is immense. From boxing up everything that you own, putting it
on a van and unpacking it somewhere completely new. Couple this with the need to find
a new home, and, if you own your property, trying to sell your old house. There is a lot of
work involved in moving.

With the number of things that can go wrong when you move, it is understandable that
moving house comes with a lot of stress. There are, however, ways that you can reduce
the levels of stress associated with your move. Through forward-thinking and planning,
you may be able to enjoy a less stressful move and be able to think positively about
the experiences that you will have soon in your new home.

Here are several ways of managing your move in order to minimize your stress levels.

Get Quotes
Firstly, as soon as you know where you are moving to, and when, you can start to look
for removals companies to help you with the move. Phone round and get quotations.
The earlier you can do this, the better, as you will need to book well in advance to
ensure you can get the help that you need.

Similarly, you may need to look into quotes for personal storage. This will be particularly
useful if you are not able to move directly into your new home after leaving your last property. This could be useful if, for example, you need to carry out renovations works on the new property.

Making Lists
One of the best ways to plan ahead is by making lists for everything. Work out everyone that
you will need to provide your new address to. Make a list of all of the businesses that you
have accounts relating to your home. For example, your broadband provider, the council,
your energy supplier, and the water board. This will make it much easier to ensure
everyone gets the message that you have moved and you are better able

Start Packing Early
The earlier you can start boxing up all of your possessions, the less stressed you will be as it gets closer to your moving out date.

Make sure you are logical and methodical when it comes to packing. Think about what you are not going to need for the time being, and start off by packing that first.

Label all of your boxes. Think about where things will be going to in your new home and make sure you write this on the box. This will save you a lot of time and headaches when it comes to unpacking at the other end.

Think about how your boxes may travel. Make sure that they are well packed, that they are not overloaded, and you use plenty of bubble wrap and tape to ensure everything is kept in its place. Remember to mark delicate items as being fragile.

The Siblings Project 2020 - March

Welcome back to The Siblings Project for 2020!
This month the photographs of the boys have been taken over a number of different days.

The first was one morning before school when Freddie decided to lie on the floor and give James a cuddle before we went to school.

The second was taken on World Book Day 2020! Our school chose to invite the children to wear nightwear to school and to bring a teddy bear with them. James chose to take his camp bear Buddy Bee and Freddie obviously chose to take his Moo!
