Freddie at five months!

Oops I'm a few days late posting this!

Five months Freddie how is that possible! It feels like it's gone In a blink of an eye!

You are already growing out of 3-6 month clothing from primark! So you are in a mixture of 3-6 and 6-9. You are in size three nappies and take 7oz bottles every three to four hours! You are mostly sleeping from between six thirty and eight on a night till between six thirty and seven thirty the next morning. It's scary that you are fitting into a 6-9 t-shirt that didn't fit James till he was 11 months old.

We have started weaning you onto solids. I was hoping to wait till six months like the guidelines say but you were downing 7oz feeds every 2-3 hours. We gave you a taste n you loved it. Taking it very slow and introducing new flavours slowly. You are now getting a small breakfast of either baby porridge or fruit purée and baby rice. And then a savoury vegetable at lunchtime. Going to keep you on this till you are six months then introduce you to finger foods and more baby lead weaning. So far you love sweet potato, but not too impressed with courgette. Mummy has a freezer draw full of puréed foods in ice cubes just for you!

You are teething big time so you always have some sort of bib on as you are a dribble monster. You had a brilliant time at nana and gaga's wedding anniversary party. You were such a happy boy, you were awake most of the afternoon and evening with short naps in your pram. The only time you cried was when your gums we're hurting. You were giving everyone big smiles and coos.

You are not the biggest fan of tummy time unless it's on mummy. You love your baby gym and also sitting in James old snug chair!

We have bought a connecta baby carrier which you love! We use it around the house and for popping to the shops. I hope by the time you are six months we may be using it more out and about.

You are still very much a mummy's boy, and like nothing better than cuddling up to mummy on an evening on the big bed to have your last feed. You adore you big brother and are always smiling at him and cooing to him.

James has started to pay you more attention and give you kisses, especially when we take him to nursery! He loves pushing your pram around the yard in the morning!

I can't believe next time I write to you, you will be six months old! Half a year Freddie! We will soon be on the countdown to you turning one! But first we have you big brother starting primary school! I'm so pleased he got into our first choice school, which means in a few years time you will be following in his footsteps and attending the nursery there!

Love you always my little bear cub

The school waiting game - we did it!

I'm so pleased to be writing this post to say James got his first choice for primary school!

It's an amazing little school where he is going to now be till he is eleven years old and Freddie will hopefully join him there in a few years time!

I have been so nervous about finding out, I was convinced we were not going to get it, but looking at it we are one of the closest families to the school it's literally four minutes walk to our house from the nursery/reception gate!

Ok mummy is rambling but I'm putting that down to emotions that and the fact it was my birthday yesterday!

Siblings April

So here we are in April! Freddie has been here 20 weeks! James has turned very helpful where his brother is concerned. If I am in the kitchen he will come through and tell me if Freddie is crying or he will fetch the bottle from the kitchen while I'm changing a nappy. He's even helped to give Freddie his bottle on a few occasions.

Freddie absolutely adores his big brother and loves nothing better than looking at him and squealing!

I'm linking up this post with the siblings project on Dear Beautiful

What Freddie Wore!

So this is my first post on What Freddie Wore!

So today Freddie is wearing a long sleeved white vest from Primark, a blue tshirt from Tesco, his trousers are from Marks and Spencer & his dribble bib is actually one of James old ones we picked up at a shop in Morpeth.

The tshirt was part of a set of three we bought a few weeks ago, but the trousers and the matching sweatshirt were bought in the sales this past January.

Baby Boy Wish List!

How Freddie can be five months old is beyond me! He's already wearing size 6-9 clothes which is quite scary as James was still wearing 6-9 at 11 months old!!

These are some of the items I have been lusting over on-line for him over the last few weeks!

1/2/3/4
I love all these items from Frugi, I especially love the tshirt with the puffin on, as the town where I grew up is on the coast and the puffins nest on the island where the light house is just off the coast!

I absolutely love browsing the next website for the boys! Every time they have a sale on I try and go to pick up some clothes in the next size up to what they are wearing!

I really do need to try and purchase some of these items for Freddie!

Urban Armor Gear IPad Mini Case Review

I am a proper addict when it comes to my iPad, I'm always on it, wether it's watching something on iplayer, on Facebook, blogging or reading a book.

So when I got offered the chance to review an amazing tough case from Urban Armor Gear I jumped at the chance. I had been looking for a new stronger case for a while, especially as James likes to use my iPad if the battery runs out on his kindle fire.

This case is simply amazing! From ordering to arriving it took about a week, and so far I'm 100% in love with it!

The website states the case is:
  • Feather-light composite construction
  • Impact resistant soft core
  • Water resistant grip material.
  • Easy access to touch screen and ports
  • Smart cover and Frogskin Technology grip
  • Meets military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6)

On first impression I did find using the stand part of the case rather tricky but after I had a play around with it, it was actually quite easy to use.

The iPad has a much better fit in this case than my old one, as the slightest knock and it would pop out of the shell. This one fell off our bed and it stayed tight in the shell. There is a rubber lip around the screen of roughly a couple of millimetres so if the iPad is dropped the screen will not touch the floor!

After now using this case for a few weeks I can safely say my opinion has not changed one bit! I'm still loving this case, probably even more than I did when I first got it and its definitely James proof as he knocked the iPad off the chair and it was fine!

**We were sent a voucher code to purchase this iPad case free of charge in exchange for this review, however all words and images are my own**

I cannot wait to get started with my bottle and be able to give Freddie a warm bottle and not having to leave him and go into the children's centre kitchen to warm his bottle in hot water!

I'm a Yoomi Mummy!

I'm thrilled to announce that I have been chosen to be a Yoomi Mummy!

If you are not familiar with Yoomi, its a self warming bottle! Yes that's right a bottle that warms itself thanks to its warmer that slots into the teat!

I am so looking forward to putting this bottle through its paces and giving it a good test with Freddie when we are at our weekly baby groups!

The school waiting game

Now it's April, the stress has finally started kicking in. A week on Monday, April 18th, we find out which primary school James will be attending. It's hard to think about our little boy starting primary school when he's not even four yet and won't be four until a few weeks before he is due to go into reception class.

His application was put in at the beginning September, so I had managed to put it out of my head till April started. Am I nervous? Yes I'm actually terrified about it.

Our first choice school is where James currently attends nursery. It's a five minute walk from our house and we love it. The foundation unit is separate to the rest of the school, it has its own entrance and it's own playground. It's like it's in its own little bubble away from the hustler and bustle of years one to six. It's a small school with one class per year group and the head teacher knows every child and parent. The best bit is the school goes from nursery to year six, so James wouldn't have to change school again till he's eleven.

Our second choice school is still quite close to us but it's a nursery till year four school, so James would have to change schools at nine and then again at thirteen.

How would I feel if James didn't get his first choice? To be honest I would be heartbroken. Over the last few months I have grown to love the school. James hasn't had the easiest start in nursery. He's the youngest in the class by over six weeks. Plus most of the other children have been in some sort of nursery or playgroup before coming to nursery, so they were used to being away from their parents on a daily basis. James however hadn't, he had been with me or my parents everyday since he was born. Sure we had been to stay and play groups but he had never been away from me till he started nursery.

Check back on 18th April to see which choice we get!
