Living Arrows 2020 Week 8/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! This is the third year I have taken part in this linky and I love taking part each week! If you haven't heard of the linky before, This was set up by Donna at What the Redhead Said and the name comes from the poem by Kahlil Gibran "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week!

The boys had a great week at nana and gaga's house. We went to Alnwick for a trip out and also to the local soft play centre! James also lost a tooth while we were visiting!

Living Arrows 2020 Week 7/52

Welcome to Living Arrows 2020! Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week!

This week we have had the worst storms! Walking to and from school has been so hard, in fact a few times mummy had had to use the stroller to get Freddie home from nursery and then back up to pick James up as he was getting blown over in the wind!

James had a really good week at school. When mummy picked him up on the Monday night his teacher told me how helpful he had been at playtime when one of the drains was blocked with sticks and he tried to get them out.

We have also been doing some of James badge work for Beavers at home. He has been working on his collectors badge and also his challenge as part of his personal challenge badge. He will be getting set a leaders challenge soon!

Freddie has had a lovely week at nursery! He has started to either leave his moo at home or he leaves him in his school bag! We are so proud that he is starting to do this already as James was still taking his CB with him right up until the last day of nursery!!

The Siblings Project 2020 - February

Welcome to The Siblings Project for 2020!

This month I took the photographs of the boys when mummy and Freddie went to visit James in Forest School with his classmates for their last session!

Both the boys were having a fantastic time climbing in the trees! Freddie will be starting his sessions in the Forest School soon and he is so excited!

Freddie's Allergies update.

The last update I did on Freddie and his allergies was about six months ago, so thought it was time we did an update!

After Freddie saw the consultant back in September he was moved from the community dietitian team he had been seeing to the allergy clinic dietitians. We saw the head of the department back in November a few days after Freddie had his birthday.

When we were there we discussed trying to do a wheat reintroduction starting in the christmas holidays. We had to first try with pasta, and if he didn't like that then try with bread. Freddie decided he did not like pasta anymore so we moved on to bread. He did so well with the quarter slice of bread, that we did the move onto a half a slice. Within a few days of going onto a half slice he obviously had a build up in his body and it started to react with him.

He started being very grumpy and getting restless in his sleep again. Then he started waking up in the early hours to poop, which is not like him at all. It was always around three or four in the morning he was waking up and that was him actually up for the day! In fact one night he ended up pooping in his pull up. We then stopped giving him the bread.

Over the weekend that we stopped it, his sleep started to get a bit better and after a few days his stomach started to settle down. I phoned his dietitian up on the Monday morning and told them what had happened and it was confirmed he had failed the reintroduction.

He now has an appointment on 16th March to discuss the next steps, which will be trying to reintroduce Soya and eventually try again the reintroduce dairy.

Each week I share one photograph of James and one of Freddie and share what they have been up to during the previous week!

This week has been quite a good one! The heating got fixed in our Scout Hut so we were able to go back to Beavers this week! James was presented with his Digital Makers Stage One badge and mummy was presented with her first aid badge! James has decided to do his collectors badge at Beavers and is using his collection of Lego so he has had mummy taking photographs of his Lego storage!

Freddie had a lovely week in nursery. His class went on a visit to the local library which he loved! Freddie has also been bringing home a book from the nursery class library each week and he is loving reading the stories he brings home.

This week its been a pretty boring week. Apart from Freddie and mummy visiting James at school for his forest school session.

Sadly we had no Beavers this week as the heating had broken in the hut and it was just not safe to take the kids in as it was so cold!
